Hat Creek Bioenergy

Our first facility in Burney, CA, opening late 2024 or early 2025 will consist of a 3-Megawatt BioMAT power plant. This bioenergy facility will use proven gasifier technology to convert sustainably sourced forest wood waste into (1) renewable electricity connected to California’s PG&E power grid and (2) sustainable biochar co-product soil amendment that reduces agricultural water usage, improves plant growth and sequesters carbon. Revenue streams from this project will help finance forest thinning projects, attract new industries and jobs to Hat Creek, and have other positive economic and environmental benefits for the county and the region.
